Soulshaker releases their first music video as a tribute to women in rock 'n' roll

The song “Rock n' Roll Queen” celebrates artists such as Rita Lee, Pitty, and Diana Ross

The Bahian hard rock band, Soulshaker , recently released their first music video: “Rock n' Roll Queen” pays homage to women in rock 'n' roll and is featured on the band's debut album, Deadly Nights .

The video begins with vocalist and guitarist Gabriel Gonçalves waking up from what appears to have been another night of partying. He decides to turn on the TV, and then images of various rock 'n' roll artists, who have influenced the band in some way, are shown in sequence.

The video features several rock 'n' roll personalities, such as Sister Rosetta Tharpe , Suzy Quatro , Diana Ross , Rita Lee , Celly Campello , Pitty, and many others. At the end of the clip, however, the band emphasizes that the tribute is for all women involved with rock 'n' roll, not just musicians.

Gabriel, who composed the song, says that he thought about the women he always met at rock n' roll shows during the songwriting process, but that, when it came time for the music video, he decided to pay homage to the artists as well. “It was a way of tipping our hats to these fabulous artists who, in some way, influenced us. The video is just that: nothing more than a tipping of the hat, a thank you from us to them,” he said.
