Amidst the anticipation for the release of his first solo album, CMFT , Corey Taylor shared how music becomes even more important during difficult times like the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview with Loudwire , the vocalist was asked how listening to or creating music positively influenced his life during the pandemic. In response, Taylor thought about the thousands of people who are at risk of losing homes, jobs, family members, and more. “The most important thing is to make sure people at least have music to listen to, something positive, and at least a positive message like, ‘If you just hold on a little longer, things can get back to normal,’” he stated.
“It’s so important for me now to make sure I’m entertaining people and giving them the happiness they need, because sometimes all we have in life is music. All I’ve really had is being able to share that with people and maybe make a difference in their lives. That has to be the most important thing,” the artist concluded.
Corey Taylor will release the album CMFT on October 2nd.
