The band doesn't know if the drummer will be a permanent member

In an interview with Guitar World, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root stated that the band will never reveal the identity of their current drummer: “Even if people are absolutely certain who he is, we will never confirm it .” Rumors indicate that Slipknot is working with Jay Weinberg, son of Max Weinberg, drummer for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

Root justifies this by saying there's no certainty about the musician's continued presence: “He might not last. He could tour with us and conclude that we're all crazy and that he can't stay with us. Or we could exclude him. Who knows?”

The guitarist continues: “For Slipknot, playing is 50 or 60% of the job. The rest is about who you are, what your personality is like. Won't there be conflicts with guys like me, Mick, Clown, Corey, Craig or Chris? We all have very strong personalities.”

Slipknot's new album, ".5: The Gray Chapter," their first since 2008, is scheduled for release on the 21st. The band has already released a music video featuring new members, the bassist and drummer, titled " The Devil In I ," which can be viewed here .
