Slipknot has a mysterious new member, the keyboardist who has replaced Craig Jones in the band since 2023.
In an interview with Revolver , Corey Taylor commented on the band's decision to reveal that Brazilian Eloy Casagrande was their new drummer . "I think we thought, 'You know what? Let's tell people.' It really was that simple, you know?" said the Slipknot frontman.
Taylor added that Eloy Casagrande stood out not only for his drumming skills, but also for his effort in truly getting to know the band and playing with them, unlike other drummers who only sent audition videos. In this way, they felt he had truly earned his place in Slipknot.
“Our audience is so used to us keeping our cards close to our chest, but for me it was more refreshing to simply say, ‘Yes, he’s our guy.’” (via Loudwire )
Jeff, the new keyboardist
When asked about theories regarding the band's current keyboardist, Corey Taylor replied that he is aware of them, but none of them are correct, which he thinks is great.
Some of these theories began shortly after Craig Jones left Slipknot, with some people believing that the "new" member was Jones himself, just with a new mask and look.
However, when a fan discovered the identity of the new drummer, Eloy Casagrande, in a hidden message on the website youcantkillme.com , there was another new name there: Jeff.
Since then, speculation has pointed to Jeff Karnowski , who was part of the group Dirty Little Rabbits in the 2000s.
It's still unknown who's behind the keyboards for Slipknot at the moment, and if Corey Taylor is telling the truth, it's not Jeff Karnowski. For now, he's only known as "Samples" and "New Guy" on different platforms.
