Slipknot album Iowa (2001) propelled them to mainstream success that few metal bands achieve. During the recording of the album, the members were going through difficult times, battling substance abuse after breaking through in the United States with their self-titled debut album released in 1999.

New Slipknot album

Slipknot has announced the album The End, So Far, scheduled for release on October 30th. The album already includes the band's surprise single of 2021 , "The Chapeltown Rag," followed by "The Dying Song (Time To Sing) ," released last month, and "Yen," released earlier this month.

The End, So Far will be the band's last album with Roadrunner Records, with whom Slipknot signed in 1998. This milestone inspired the band to work with a different sound on this new album , indicating a new phase for the group. The album is already available for pre-order.
