Slipknot speaks out about the postponement of Knotfest Brazil.

The festival that was supposed to take place in October has been rescheduled for 2024, and Shawn “Clown” Crahan commented on the situation.

Last July 24th, the Knotfest organization revealed in a short statement that the 2023 edition of the festival would be postponed to the following year. Now, a new statement has been released, this time by the band.

This Wednesday, the 26th, percussionist and band founder Shawn “Clown” Crahan said that the second edition in São Paulo, which would follow a successful debut in 2022, will need to “take a little longer” so that fans can have “the best possible experience”.

The festival, which would have been its second edition in Brazil, was scheduled for October 21st and 22nd at Novo Anhangabaú in São Paulo, but a new date has not yet been announced. Shortly after the festival's postponement, Evanescence announced a solo show at the same venue and on the same day.

In the statement, Clown wrote: “We are taking a little longer to ensure that fans have the best possible experience at Knotfest Brazil. Rest assured, we will return with updated information as soon as possible. See you soon, we are eager to return. Until then, stay safe and stay informed about the new dates.”

The festival had its first edition in Brazil in December 2022 with Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Trivium, Sepultura, Judas Priest, Pantera, Motionless In White, Vended, Project46, Oitão and Jimmy & Rats in the lineup.
