Slipknot had to interrupt their show last Saturday, the 21st, due to severe weather that hit the state of Iowa, the band's home state. The band was headlining Knotfest , a festival they created in 2012, which will have its second edition in Brazil in October .
The home team's show was originally scheduled for 9 p.m. local time, but had to be moved forward an hour in an attempt to avoid the predicted bad weather.
The gates opened at 11:00 AM, with the first band, Holy Wars , taking the main stage at 11:30 AM. Early in the evening, the organizers announced changes to the schedule on social media with the following message: “Attention: Due to the threat of bad weather, the schedules have been adjusted to accommodate all shows for the best possible experience.” The following performances were rescheduled: Dying Wish at 6:00 PM; Till Lindemann at 6:30 PM; Gwar at 7:00 PM; and Slipknot at 8:00 PM.
About three hours after the announcement, Slipknot was already performing, and with 11 songs and less than an hour of show, the organization had to end the event prematurely. “Unfortunately, the weather isn’t cooperating, it’s time to wrap up. Please proceed to the exit slowly and drive safely home. Thank you for joining us at Knotfest Iowa ,” wrote Des Moines Park on its social media.
Approximately 20,000 fans were expected at this edition of the festival, which featured 13 bands and two stages. The last edition in Iowa was in 2021 and had around 30,000 people, and also had problems such as long lines and inaccessible water.

The second new feature is that this will be the first time drummer Eloy Casagrande performs with Slipknot in Brazil.
