Last weekend , Shawn “Clown” Crahan , the percussionist for Slipknot , lost his 22-year-old daughter, Gabrielle Crahan.
Upon hearing the news, fans of the musician immediately took to social media to express their grief over the tragedy and share words of support. Now, Crahan has used Slipknot's channels to thank everyone for their messages.
“First: Chantel, Alexandria, Gage, Simon, and I would like to thank everyone for the endless amount of love, prayers, thoughts, and kindness we have received. Even though it’s not yet possible for me to read and respond to every message and comment, I want you all to know that we can feel the shared energy and are very grateful. You have all proven that there is empathy, positivity, and strength in this community we call humanity on Earth.”
"Secondly: There will be a funeral for my daughter Gabrielle on Sunday, May 26th. Flowers may be sent to the Scottish Rite Consistory in Des Moines. Cards and condolences may be addressed to Iles Funeral Home in Des Moines."
Gabrielle Crahan died just days after sharing a photo on her official Instagram account celebrating five months of sobriety. The cause of death has not yet been revealed, but according to TMZ , Gabrielle may have suffered an overdose.
