Last Wednesday, the 7th, Slipknot performed at the Nova Rock without percussionist Clown and with a mysterious new member.
Shortly before the band took the stage at the festival in Austria, it was announced on social media that keyboardist and sampler Craig Jones was leaving Slipknot after 27 years. The announcement was later deleted and replaced with a photo of the new member , who has not yet been officially introduced.
Shawn “Clown” Crahan ’s absence is expected to continue for a few more shows. The percussionist is at home with his wife, who is experiencing unspecified “health issues.” He assured that he will be back on stage as soon as possible.
In their first show of the European tour, Slipknot added some songs to the setlist that hadn't been played in many years. According to Loudwire , one of them was "The Blister Exists," which hadn't been performed live since 2015, and was chosen to open the show. Others were "Purity" and "Liberate," which hadn't been performed since 2016. The band also played "Yen," from their most recent album, for the first time.
