Slipknot performed last Thursday night, the 25th, at Pappy & Harriet's bar in Pioneertown, California, near Joshua Tree National Park. The show was the band's first with their new drummer, whose identity has not yet been revealed .
The new drummer's performance was scheduled for this Saturday, the 27th, during the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, but on Tuesday the 23rd, the group announced that this intimate show would take place instead. Tickets sold out in minutes for $9.
In addition to playing for the first time with the drummer who replaced Jay Weinberg , who left the band last November and is now with Suicidal Tendencies , the band returned to its roots by performing in outfits and masks reminiscent of the era of Slipknot's debut album, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2024.
Since Eloy Casagrande left Sepultura but nothing has yet been confirmed by the band. The group has a tradition of always keeping the arrival of new members a secret, but fans have already found clues to support their theory.
One of them is the discovery of the name "Eloy" in the source code of the website youcantkillme.com , which was updated this week. Another clue is a post from the band indicating a return to rehearsals with a photo of a drumstick known to be used by Eloy. With the release of videos from the recent performance, fans point out that the posture, playing style, and tattoos are identical to those of the Brazilian drummer.
Some fans who attended the show shared videos of the performance on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok. Check them out below.
Another new feature of the show was the performance of the song "Prosthetics," a track the band hasn't played since 2019. See the setlist of the show ( via Setlist.fm ) after the videos.
