It's been a very busy week for Slipknot . This Friday, the 9th, the group surprised fans with the release of an EP called Adderall , featuring six tracks.
The project contains alternative and reimagined versions of the song "Adderall," as well as previously unreleased tracks such as "Death March," "Red or Redder," and "Hard to Be Here."
Two of the six songs, “Memories (Adderall – Rough Demo)” and “Death March,” received exclusive music videos, directed by percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan . “Deconstructing to continue paving the way for evolution,” comments Clown. “At this point in the game, nothing is certain.”
The announcement comes after two very intense and turbulent days for Slipknot. On Wednesday, the 7th, the band announced the departure of sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones after 27 years of partnership. On the same day, Clown also announced that he will be absent from the band's shows indefinitely due to his wife's "health problems".
The two announcements coincided with the day of Slipknot's first European tour show. The group played with a new and mysterious member replacing Craig Jones and posted an enigmatic photo on social media. The musician's identity has not yet been revealed.
