Joey Jordison , former drummer and founding member of Slipknot , died last Monday, the 26th , at the age of 46. After the news broke, the band's social media accounts and those of some members experienced a "blackout".

With no public comments on the passing so far, the group changed all profile and cover photos to a black image, which was also shared on their feed. Vocalist Corey Taylor, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan , also co-founders of the group, and guitarist Jim Root also paid tribute.

Jordison's death was confirmed in a statement from the musician's family , but the cause has not yet been released. "The family will arrange a private funeral and asks that the media and the public respect their wishes," they stated.
