Slipknot postponed Knotfest Japan as a safety measure amid the coronavirus epidemic. Korn , Marilyn Manson , Coldrain , Anthrax , Men With a Mission , and Babymetal were part of the lineup.
The 2020 edition was scheduled to take place on March 20th and 21st in Chiba, near Tokyo. "We are working with Slipknot and the band's team to determine a new date and will release details on the official Knotfest Japan website and social media as soon as they are confirmed," the event organizers said in a statement.
Fans will be able to use their previously purchased tickets to enter the event, which is expected to be rescheduled for the second half of the year. Fans who choose to receive a refund for their tickets can contact the organizers.
The coronavirus epidemic has caused a wave of cancellations in Asia and Europe. Whitesnake , for example, cancelled the dates of their Flesh & Blood in Japan that were scheduled for this month. "We want to apologize to everyone involved in our tour and, especially, to the fans who bought tickets and were looking forward to the show," the group said.
