Slipknot: “Lost” album will be released in 2026, says Shawn “Clown” Crahan

Titled 'Look Outside Your Window', the highly anticipated work is "experimental and melodic".

Slipknot has revealed that the long-awaited "lost" album Look Outside Your Window will finally be released in 2026. The confirmation came from percussionist and founder Shawn "Clown" Crahan during a Q&A session on Discord (as reported by ThePRP ).

After much speculation and delay, Clown finally confirmed: “I know I told everyone it would be this year. I’m sorry it wasn’t. Unexpected things happen and change everything all the time in the art we create. I want you to know that 2026 is the year. It’s simply a matter of time and I myself am tired of waiting. Have faith. I promise.”

Recorded during the sessions for the album All Hope Is Gone in 2008, the material for Look Outside Your Window was created by four members of the band: Clown, vocalist Corey Taylor , guitarist Jim Root , and DJ/turntablist Sid Wilson .

According to Clown, this work should never be considered an "official" Slipknot album, and it sounds "not like Slipknot, not even close." Several previous statements described the album as "experimental, melodic" and with a vibe closer to alternative rock, even comparing it to the style of Radiohead .

“The material on 'Look Outside Your Window' is really very… I mean, there’s no way to describe it. It’s experimental, but it has an incredible vibe, it’s super melodic. Very good. It’s hard to explain. There’s something special about these songs. They’re very solemn, very energetic, very artistic. For someone who’s used to a certain Slipknot style, this doesn’t sound anything like it. It has a much more rock vibe. Honestly, it’s much more like Radiohead , to be honest,” said Clown [via ThePRP ].
