Finally, Slipknot is working on new music. Drummer Eloy Casagrande revealed the news in an interview with Drummer's Review .
Without giving too many details, Eloy said [via NME ]: “We’re cooking, we’re definitely making new music. Since I joined the band, we’ve been working on some new ideas. We keep swapping guitar riffs, drum beats, so we’re always doing something. We’ve also done some jam sessions.”
"So, we have a lot of material now. We just need to sit down and put it all together, start playing, and it's happening. It's already happened. It will happen in the future. So, new material is definitely coming," the drummer concluded.
In May of this year, guitarist Jim Root revealed that he has “six finished arrangements” for new Slipknot songs, but that the band is in no rush to release the next album. He also said that he “would like to revisit the raw energy of how the first two albums were recorded” – referring to Self Titled (1999) and Iowa (2001).
The band hasn't released any new material since The End So Far in 2022. However, in early 2024, they released the new song "Long May You Die," recorded shortly after Eloy Casagrande joined the band.
