Slipknot was named Best Band in the World at the NME Awards 2020 , which took place in London on Wednesday, the 12th.
The ceremony was hosted by Kim Petras , who announced the bands nominated for the award: HAIM, Tame Impala, Brockhampton , and BTS . Upon receiving the award, lead singer Corey Taylor gave a thank you speech on behalf of the band.
“We really appreciate this, best band in the world (…) Thank you for finally recognizing us, this is all we ever wanted. So this is more for you than for us. Thank you to our fans for always being with us,” he said in a video – unfortunately the band did not attend the event because they were on tour.
