Slipknot: Former drummer Joey Jordison speaks in a post about the 21st anniversary of the band's first album; see it here.

“That album was and always will be absolutely one of the best memories of my life,” Jordison wrote.

Slipknot is celebrating the 21st anniversary of their debut album in the genre. And former drummer Joey Jordison is also celebrating.

In a post on his social media, Jordison, who was the band's drummer from 1995 to 2013, shared yesterday, the 30th, a touching text and an image of a frame that appears to be from the gold record of the 1999 album.

“It’s almost hard to believe how these years flew by like explosive beats,” the drummer wrote. “That album was and always will be absolutely one of the best memories of my life. There’s nothing quite like it, and what it did for all of us and the world of Metal. It made all our dreams come true, and the overall reaction from the fans almost brought down concert halls and stadiums around the world. We didn’t expect it, but it absolutely exploded! We were so determined, hungry, and ready to take on the world, and we did. We feared no one, and it showed when we stepped onto the stage. It was 'that' time. Total mystery that it was.”

“Thank you to Monte Conner , Dave Rath and all the members of Roadrunner RecordsSophia John, Ross “The King”, Robinson and Chuck Johnson . To the fans, you made this happen for all of us, and I dedicate this anniversary to YOU!!! Metal Forever. Thank you eternally! Joey Jordison no.1”, the text concluded.
