Yesterday, the 31st, in a series of tweets , the musician wrote, “Black lives matter. Institutional racism exists. White privilege is real. I am heartbroken to, once again, witness the oppression and prejudice that the Black community has suffered for centuries in America – at the hands of a system that is completely broken…”
“It’s time to stand up against police brutality and those who perpetuate institutional racism, and to become an ally of those who do not experience the same kind of freedom that those who share white privilege enjoy…,” Weinberg continues.
“I am hopeful that we can use our voice to create real change. We can contribute our time, donations, energy, and compassion to fight for true equality, freedom, and unity…”
To conclude his statement, Jay writes, “Educate yourself. Vote. Use your voice. I will.”
