Slipknot fan dies after falling in the mosh pit at a concert

A 62-year-old fan was apparently knocked down during the mosh pit

Slipknot 's performance at Knotfest Roadshow , a fan died after apparently falling into the mosh pit.

Richard Valadez , from Illinois, was pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m. on Sunday. As of now, there is no official cause of death while the autopsy results are still pending. Witnesses say Valadez was knocked to the ground in the mosh pit.

"He was having seizures while people were trying to help him, so we started calling for help," said a fan who was present at the scene.

Other fans said that help took 15 to 25 minutes to arrive because of the large crowd. "They certainly should have handled the situation better. More emergency personnel should have been present, and there should have been a better way to let people know when they needed help.".

The Fire Department announced that it was not present at the show. "The emergency team is provided through a private contract for any incidents on site," it stated.

This is not the first time this year that an accident at a Slipknot concert.
