Slipknot confirms first unreleased song with Eloy Casagrande.

“Long May You Die” will mark the Brazilian artist’s first recording with Slipknot

Slipknot confirmed last Wednesday, the 16th, that the first new song featuring Brazilian Eloy Casagrande on drums is already finished.

In April of this year, the group surprised fans with a mysterious billboard near the city of Indio, California, at the same time as the band's website was updated. The billboard image showed the band's logo and the URL youcantkillme.com . Next to the logo were the phrases "One Night Only" and "Long May You Die".

Now, in a social media post, Slipknot wrote: “Slipknot fans are talking about 'Long May You Die' being a new song written during the recent recording sessions. You’re right. You’re absolutely correct.”.

Eloy had already confirmed that he had recorded new material with Slipknot. "We wrote some things, and they're shelved for now," he recently told Veja São Paulo . He also spoke about his reason for leaving Slipknot, explaining that it was a consequence of the end of Sepultura .

The site, which supposedly first appeared about a year ago, is simulated to mirror the look and feel of a 1999 website, humorously suggesting that users get “Netscape 4.0+ or Internet Explorer 4.0+” to capture “most of the cool stuff on this site.” It also hints at being a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the self-titled 1999 album.

The link also contains photos, with one of the most recent image files bearing the name [ONENIGHTONLY]. There is a biographical section that appears to have come from his 1999 introduction to fans and journalists, a guestbook with comments that supposedly came from attendees, all dated March 3, 2000, links to lyrics for all the songs on the self-titled album, and audio files for five of the tracks – “Eyeless”, “Wait and Bleed”, “Surfacing”, “Spit It Out”, and “Me Inside”.

All of this was the beginning of the band's 25th-anniversary , which started with a surprise show followed by a performance at the Sick New World festival, both with Eloy. The tour extends to other countries, such as the United States and Canada, in addition to Brazil, which will host Knotfest in São Paulo on October 19th and 20th. The group will perform on both days with different sets.

The full festival lineup will be announced soon, but tickets are already available on the official Eventim website.
