Slipknot released behind-the-scenes footage of the music video for the track "Unsainted" on the video's one-year anniversary .
The video marked the beginning of the band's new era for the acclaimed album We Are Not Your Kind , which dethroned pop singer Ed Sheeran from the top of the UK album charts.
The video was directed by the band's percussionist, M. Shawn Crahan , and featured references to iconic locations in the band's hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. The production also introduced the band members' new masks to the public.
