Slipknot has confirmed that the long-awaited "lost" album Look Outside Your Window will finally be released on April 18th, in a special Record Store Day 2026 .
The album is a collection of unreleased songs recorded by four members of the band during the sessions for their 2008 album, All Hope Is Gone . However, only one track from those sessions has been released so far, "'Til We Die".
Look Outside Your Window is a project by Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan , vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarist Jim Root , and DJ Sid Wilson , who took advantage of a stalemate in the album's production process to work, in a separate studio, on tracks with a more psychedelic approach. Now, 15 years later, the album will be released with only 2,300 copies available.
In a statement released online, Slipknot commented on the release [via NME ]: “We knew we were treading a different creative path, completely apart from Slipknot, and we followed it enthusiastically. We called the project Look Outside Your Window as a tribute to that experimental spirit. Created during a chaotic period in our shared history, the songs were born late at night in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.”
“Looking through a large window, we would imagine what, or who, might be lurking outside. This sense of the unknown permeated the music itself. There were no rules; ideas could come from anywhere: subtle drum loops, organ snippets, or abstract guitar noises, even samples of frogs or crickets. Guided by emotion and instinct, we let the sounds themselves show us the way.”
