After multiple collaborations with names in the new pop punk scene ranging from Machine Gun Kelly to Maggie Lindemann , vocalist Kellin Quinn decided to turn his attention back to his band, Sleeping With Sirens , and the group not only released a new single but also announced their upcoming studio album.
The album is called Complete Collapse and is the band's first since How It Feels To Be Lost , from 2019. The new single “Crosses” brings with it a surprise: the participation of Spencer Chamberlain , from Underoath . According to Kellin Quinn, Chamberlain's presence “elevated the song,” and he cited Underoath as one of his biggest influences.
Regarding the new song, Quinn said (via Loudwire ): “I think 'Crosses' is a great lead single from the album! For me, the song is about not putting yourself above anyone else. I think we’re all trying our best and we can help each other! In a world where everyone pretends to be perfect, I think this song makes it clear that we all have problems and we can all overcome them!”
The release was accompanied by a music video made in a more relaxed atmosphere "to contrast with the theme" of the song. A year before "Crosses," Sleeping With Sirens had already released the single " Bloody Knuckles ," which is also part of the Complete Collapse .
