The story of Guns N' Roses would certainly make a great movie. Even after the success of films about Queen and Mötley Crüe , there are still no plans for a biopic of the band, as Slash in a recent interview – and he wouldn't even want to be involved in such a project.
In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment , the guitarist denied the existence of any such project on Guns N' Roses' radar, although he didn't completely rule out the possibility. "I just don't see it happening in the foreseeable future. That doesn't mean it will never happen, because who knows? I can only think about it up to a certain point," he said.
After this brief update on the non-existence of a biopic project for the band, Slash also shared his fears about the production of such a film. “I could never imagine how you could [represent]… I mean, it’s one thing trying to find actors to represent the people in the band, but it’s another thing entirely with all these theatrical representations of life in the music scene and the daily lives of the musicians and all that stuff,” he explained. “It’s always some manufactured, exaggerated crap, a load of rubbish; it’s very rare to see one of those films that actually feels genuine.”
Without naming the films responsible for creating this impression of artificiality, Slash revealed that he wouldn't want to be involved if Guns N' Roses were to become the subject of a biopic. “That's why I don't even want to be a part of it. I just don't think it would be done with true justice. I've seen a lot of bad [biopics] and it scares me… I believe the best ones are those that tell an almost fictional story – based on someone,” he concluded.
Despite having no interest in a Guns N' Roses-related film project, Slash remains involved with the soundtracks of various productions, including a role in the new Barbie , and his own horror film production company .
