In 2016, Axl Rose was announced as the temporary vocalist for AC/DC Rock Or Bust tour (2014). In a recent interview, Slash revealed his opinion on the Guns N' Roses to replace Brian Johnson , who was sidelined due to hearing problems.
“I went to an AC/DC show [with Axl on vocals] in London and it was phenomenal. I was blown away, especially when he sang Bon Scott . It was a very proud moment, actually,” he said in an interview with Classic Rock .
At the time of the shows with AC/DC, Guns N' Roses had just reunited. During the interview, Slash was asked if he found it strange to see the vocalist in another band. “Not at all. It was AC/DC, man,” he replied. “The fact that they invited him was really cool. And he worked hard to make it happen, too. He really embraced the AC/DC regime and it worked out.”
Despite his admiration at seeing his colleague on stage, the guitarist confessed that he was apprehensive about how the invitation would affect the Guns N' Roses reunion. “At the time, when I found out, it was a bit shocking, I must say. I was very proud that he was going to do it, but how it would happen and impact Guns N' Roses, I really didn't know. But, in any case, it worked out. So it wasn't an issue,” he said.
