The partnership between Slash and Michael Schenker
Regarding the partnership, Michael Schenker told the Appetite For Distortion :
“When Michael Voss, my co-producer, and I started putting down our guitars, and while we were doing that, we had no idea what we were going to do… Nothing had been discussed. And then, while we were recording the music, we thought: ‘Oh, what about this?’ ‘What about that?’ ‘What about who?’ Everyone had some ideas. And so, actually, everyone who participated in this album was added to the whole idea from different sources and at different times.”
“So, basically, with Axl and Slash. Slash, I’d always been interested in doing something with him, but I think when Michael Voss first approached him saying we were doing the best UFO thing and read the song titles to him, he agreed. When we met at the Frankfurt recording studio, we were both going to play ‘Mother Mary’ there. And I had my tech guy there and my amp, and Slash brought his guys and his amp…”
