Slash left X after his account was hacked and used to promote the memecoin “GUNS”. He will remain active on TikTok and Instagram . Similar cases have occurred with Metallica.
Last week, the official account of iconic guitarist Slash on the X platform was apparently hacked. The incident generated a great deal of buzz, as several suspicious posts appeared on his profile, promoting cryptocurrencies , most notably one called "GUNS" – a memecoin Guns N' Roses fans .
Faced with the situation, Slash made the difficult decision to permanently step away from the X platform. He informed his fans that he will remain active on other social media platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram, where he promises to maintain a healthier and safer connection.
In a candid post, he explained: “I would like to inform you that I have decided to step away from Twitter/X and will no longer be active on the platform. This was a considered decision following repeated attacks and reflects a change in how I would like to stay connected going forward.”
This incident, unfortunately, is not an isolated one. A similar case happened with the band Metallica , also used by scammers to promote cryptocurrency .
