Guns N' Roses fans have been yearning for a new album of original material from the band. Chinese Democracy remains the last album released by Axl Rose . However, those plans may change, according to Slash .

In an interview with Guitar World , the guitarist revealed that several songs are in development. The main problem, according to him, lies in the planning, which is considered problematic within the band.

“We have a lot of material right now. It’s a matter of having the discipline to dive into it. But the problem with Guns N’ Roses, in my view, is that you can never plan ahead. You can never say, ‘Let’s dedicate this time and do this.’ Every time we’ve done that, it’s gone wrong,” he stated [transcription via Blabbermouth ].

In the same conversation, Slash stated that there is no concrete date for when Guns N' Roses might release their new album. For him, it needs to be something spontaneous. The musician further limited himself to saying that "it's coming," because everyone is thinking about it.

“It happens spontaneously, through some kind of inspiration that triggers the process. And, when you realize it, everything is already ready and working. So, [the album] is coming. I know it's coming because everyone is thinking about it. It will happen when it has to happen,” he concluded.
