In a recent interview on the Appetite For Distortion Skid Row drummer Rob Hammersmith commented on the band's ongoing search for a new vocalist.

BLABBERMOUTH.NET transcript ) : “We’re actively searching. We’ve had some very strong candidates. We have a few people we’re very involved with and evaluating. We’re not quite there yet.”

“It’s a long process. You want it to be quick and easy, but, like most things in life, that doesn’t happen. So, no solid updates, no big announcements for you at this time, other than the fact that we are still working on this process.”

The band has been searching for a new vocalist since the departure of Erik Grönwall , who replaced Sebastian Bach in 2021 and left the band due to health issues.

Rob was asked what style the band is looking for in a vocalist, and he replied: “We’ll know when we find it, as individuals and as a group, but putting it into words feels like we’re being restrictive. If I gave you four or five adjectives to describe what we’re looking for… We want someone with presence, personality, and something unique.”

“Anyone who knows the band’s history knows we’re an energetic band,” he continued. “We’re proud of that. We have a particular way of doing things. That doesn’t mean we’re not open to someone bringing their own brand, but that’s a difficult question to answer.”

"So, I'd say you're right when you say we'll know when we see it. There's a heritage and a legacy that we want to honor. We don't want to stray too far from that. But at the same time, there's room for evolution, and each chapter or era of the band is different in its own way," he concluded.

Dave “Snake” Sabo has made it clear that a reunion with Sebastian Bach is out of the question. Although many fans have expressed interest in such a return, the band prioritizes well-being and internal harmony. According to Sabo, he, Rachel Bolan , and Scotti Hill share the same opinion about not revisiting that chapter of Skid Row's history, even in the face of attractive financial offers for a reconciliation with Bach. For the group, friendship, happiness, and stability are more important.

Sebastian Bach was the lead vocalist for Skid Row until his departure in 1996, when he was dismissed from the band. Since then, the group has undergone several lineup changes, especially regarding the lead vocalist position.
