Get to know the band's work.

2013 is a special year for Torture Squad, a band that started in 1989 in the São Paulo underground scene. After several European, South American, and national tours, the band re-released its first four albums in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the release of its first demo.

Due to the quality of their previous work, Amilcar Christófaro (drums), Castor (bass, vocals) and André Evaristo (vocals, guitar) decided to work again with Brendan Duffey and Adriano Daga at Norcal Studios to record their new album. The band's seventh studio album, "Esquadrão de Tortura" (Torture Squad), is a concept album, narrating important events from the period when Brazil was under military rule (1964-1985).

Featuring the participation of some great names in Brazilian music such as João Gordo (Ratos de Porão), Sphaera Rock Orchestra (string quartet in two songs, conducted and arranged by Alexey Kurkdjian), Rafael Augusto Lopes (ex-Torture Squad, Fanttasma), Fernanda Lira (Nervosa), Paulinho Sorriso and Dino Verdade, “Esquadrão de Tortura” had its physical release in Brazil, Mexico, Central America, the United States and Europe on November 15th, the day of the Proclamation of the Republic.

In October 2015, guitarist and vocalist André Evaristo left the band. He was replaced by Mayara “Undead” Puertas (vocals) and Rene Simionato (guitar).
