The statement was made on the program "The Therapist"

In a recent episode of the show "The Therapist," Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor revealed that he was sexually assaulted when he was 10 years old by another boy who lived in the same neighborhood.

The episode shows the vocalist conversing with therapist Dr. Siri Sat Sam Singh in an intense therapy session.

Taylor talks about the difficulties she faced in childhood, which included domestic violence, drug use, lack of financial resources, a suicide attempt, and, for the first time on camera, admitting to rape.

“I was raped by someone in the neighborhood. We were constantly moving, so I obviously had to try to make friends quickly. In this place, there was only one boy who was 16 years old and who could be my friend. He would invite me to his house to listen to music, and one day that turned into something completely different.”

“I didn’t tell anyone for a long time because he threatened to hurt me and my mother. In the end, he set his house on fire and they had to move in the middle of the night, it was crazy. It took me a long time to feel safe again. I didn’t tell anyone until I was about 18 years old. By then I had already found my tribe, of misfits.”.

Corey Taylor ended the session talking about his own children:

"The only thing I ever wanted was to have a father. And I never wanted my children to go through what I went through, so it was very important to me, from the moment they were born, to set aside money for their education, pay the bills, buy clothes, food, everything. A solid foundation. They don't need to worry because they are protected.".

The episode will air soon on the subscription channel Viceland.
