Band takes website offline

Slipknot took their website offline and changed their Facebook to a completely black photo. The band is likely undergoing a clean sweep and starting a new phase, with Taylor stating that recordings for the new album have progressed.

The vocalist told Kerrang! that he already has the lyrics for the 17 songs that will be on the CD, and shared a bit about the themes of the tracks: “I think it tells the story of Slipknot up to today, which is different from anything I’ve ever written for the band. But I think, because of everything we’ve been through, it’s time to tell this story.”

Taylor said that fans will be excited about the album: "It's everything you want from a Slipknot album and everything you least expect." The album doesn't yet have a firm release date, but it should be released sometime in 2014.
