The vocalist was 48 years old
Former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver vocalist Scott Weiland was found dead in Minnesota on his tour bus.
The circumstances of the death are still being investigated by police, but according to Billboard.com, the Minnesota Police Department received a call at 8:22 PM and upon arriving at the scene, found the vocalist dead inside the tour bus.
Scott Weiland's official Facebook page carries the message:
“Scott Weiland, best known as the lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep during a tour bus stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band, The Wildabouts. At this time, we ask that the privacy of Scott's family be respected.”
