For me, the To Live Again Tour was an emotional rollercoaster. People felt that a band is made up of a team that fights, that helps, that demands from each other.”
With the announcement of the farewell show of the acclaimed To Live Again Tour 2012, Wikimetal decided to gift Viper fans with a series of interviews with the 5 band members, where they will all answer the same questions about Viper's past, present, and future. Wikimetal feels deeply proud to have been part of this reunion; it was exciting for us and gratifying to receive the praise we did. We hope that fans from São Paulo and the surrounding area will once again fill Via Marquês on December 2nd to show that a job well done and of high quality will always be supported by the public. Now, Pit Passarell answers our questions!
WM: As we all know, this will truly be the last show of the To Live Again Tour. But what the fans really want to know is, will this be Viper's last show?
PP: No, definitely not! One tour ends, another begins! Viper has a very long history with a repertoire that shaped a generation of rockers. New projects will come, who knows, maybe an Evolution Coma Rage?! Who knows?!
WM: What was, for you, the highlight of this series of 25 shows?
PP: The contact with old fans, new fans, and those yet to come and be born. The strength of our team for putting up with me through good and bad times, and the fantastic friendship within the band. Even more than that, besides a great guitarist, I gained a new brother: Hugo Mariutti.
WM: What would you say to the fans who traveled miles to see the band's show and to those who traveled miles to see multiple shows?
PP: Travel more, we'll travel more, and we'll always be together! I will always travel to be with you, and I hope you will always travel to be with us. Together forever!
WM: What was the biggest lesson and learning experience you took away from this tour?
PP: Beware of bad company, but ask for their phone number!! Seriously, the lesson: Playing is great, and knowing that you are loved and respected for your music is great!
WM: What do you think would have happened to Viper if Andre hadn't left after that show at Dama Xoc in São Paulo so many years ago?
PP: I don't know, man! I only know that the future belongs to God. Our paths always cross because we are great friends.
WM: One of Viper's greatest successes, the excellent album Evolution, was released exactly 20 years ago. Can fans expect some kind of celebration to commemorate this great milestone and this great album?
PP: It's what I said before: The Evolution Tour! I'm in!!
WM: In 2013, the release of the DVD and double CD Live in São Paulo was already announced. How are the preparations going for this big release? Is Viper preparing something special for this occasion?
PP: We are very excited, I hope it will be a great event and that you will be there! Seeing is believing!
WM: Will you be recording anything at The Farewell Concert in São Paulo on December 2nd for the Live in São Paulo DVD?
PP: Of course! We want to capture this moment!
WM: The To Live Again Tour was a different kind of tour, marked by emotion. It was clear to the fans who saw the show how much fun the band was having on stage and how you all remain friends after so many years. What part(s) of the show moved you the most?
PP: The emotion was overwhelming. For me personally, it was an emotional rollercoaster. First rehearsals, seeing old friends again, meeting a new team, arguments, drinking, traveling, staying in such different hotel rooms… The most important thing was seeing how people felt that a band is made up of a team that fights, helps, and demands the same. I just know I gave my all, and those who saw me on stage know how much I love this band! To the fans who were at the shows, thank you all, and know that there's still plenty of blood left!
WM: Will the To Live Again Tour leave you with fond memories?
PP: Not fond memories, but good memories! Let's get it on!
WM: Leave a message for the Viper fans who keep asking the band not to break up after this tour.
PP: Well, as long as I'm alive, Viper exists. Count on me because I'll do the best I can for you! Thank you very fucking much!
VIPER's tour closing show takes place on December 2nd at Via Marquês. Tickets are on sale at Ticket Brasil .
