Bassist fell during the song Whiplash
During his band's show in New York, bassist Jason Newsted was knocked off the stage by an overly enthusiastic fan.
The accident occurred during a performance of Metallica's song "Whiplash." Midway through the show, the fan climbed onto the stage and, in an attempt to jump back into the audience, pulled the musician down with him. The fan was removed from the audience by security.
Newsted, after returning to the stage, said: “In all the shows I’ve ever done, this was the first time this happened to me. Did you take a good look at him? I'm counting on you to take care of him. Don't kill him, just hurt him a little.”
