Festival announces change
The official Soundwave Festival website announced today that Jason Newsted's band has been removed from the Australian tour dates.
Without much explanation, the website's organizers published the following statement: "At Megadeth's request, Newsted will not be playing on the following dates, and will be replaced by Whitechapel."
Last year, Newsted and Megadeth toured together on the Gigantour, even resulting in a joint performance where they played a Metallica song.
The Soundwave festival also features Volbeat and now the Tennessee-based death metal band, Whitechapel.
