In this week's Wikimetal poll, "Kairos" was voted the best Sepultura with Derrick Green on vocals, with 40% of the votes. "The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart" and "Dante XXI" came in second and third place, with 29% and 14% respectively.
“Kairos” was released in 2011, recorded in São Paulo and produced by Roy Z, who would later work with the band on their next album, “The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart” in 2013. The album was well-received by fans and critics, and sold over 2,500 copies in its first week in the United States.
The album's theme is the passage of time, as the title itself suggests. According to Andreas Kisser, the album is about Sepultura's 26-year career: "The album was inspired by Sepultura's entire history, but mainly by what the band is today .
