Guns N' Roses was formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, and by 1986 the band already had its classic lineup, with Axl Rose on vocals, Slash and Izzy Stradlin on guitars, Duff McKagan on bass, and Steven Adler on drums.
In 1987, Guns N' Roses released their first album, Appetite For Destruction , which contains great classics from the band, such as "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City". The album made history as the best-selling debut album in rock history.
In 1988, the band released their second album, G N' R Lies , and in 1991 the albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II . The latter two were a great commercial success and propelled the band's career to international fame. The albums spent 108 weeks on the best-selling charts.
In 1990, Steven Adler was fired from the band due to drug abuse. In 1991, Stradlin also left Guns N' Roses. Slash and McKagan left the band during a hiatus in 1996.
In 2008, after a 15-year hiatus, the band released the album Chinese Democracy . In 2012, Guns N' Roses, represented by the classic lineup, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . The band has sold over 100 million albums, making them one of the most commercially successful bands of all time.
