Korn announces album title and release date

Korn has announced new details about their upcoming album, which brings back guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch, who has been separated from the band since 2005.

The album, titled “The Paradigm Shift,” will be released on October 1st. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Welch said that the new CD is his favorite Korn album: “The end result is a good mix of old Korn with new elements. It has a new Korn sound. The melodies, lyrics, and choruses are on another level.”

Lead singer Jonathan Davis said that Welch's return was very positive for the group: "Having our brother back brought a different morale to the band."

Davis says he had difficulty working on the new album because he was in the process of detoxing from antidepressants. The singer explains that he spent the last few months determined to stop using the medication, and this affected the composition of "The Paradigm Shift": "It was truly magical. I don't know how the hell I managed it. I was so devastated to have stopped the medication, and I'm so happy with the album. When I look back now, I don't know how I did it all."

Korn will be coming to Brazil in October, playing on the first day of the Monsters of Rock festival. Check here other acts and ticket information.
