Lead singer is doing well.
Iron Maiden announced today on their official Facebook page that vocalist Bruce Dickinson recently underwent surgery to remove throat cancer. The band provided information about the procedure and asked for the support and understanding of fans at this time. See Iron Maiden's full statement below:
“Shortly before Christmas, the Maiden vocalist visited his doctor for a routine check-up. This led to tests and biopsies that revealed a small cancerous tumor at the back of his tongue. A seven-week course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy was completed yesterday. As the tumor was detected early, the prognosis is extremely positive. The medical team anticipates Bruce will be fully recovered by May. From then on, it should take a few months for him to regain full fitness. In the meantime, we ask for your patience, understanding, and respect for Bruce and his family's privacy until we provide further updates at the end of May. Bruce is doing very well considering the circumstances, and we are all optimistic.”
