Sinistra ended a wait that predated the pandemic and released their self-titled debut album on all streaming platforms. The supergroup, formed in São Paulo in 2018 by musicians Nando Fernandes (vocals), Edu Ardanuy (guitar), Luis Mariutti (bass), and Rafael Rosa (drums), digitally premiered their debut on the evening of November 27th, at an exclusive event for press, fans, and guests.
The album launch event, held at Espaço Tiarlinda, was streamed live and included a listening session of the entire album, a press conference, a meet & greet, and a mini-concert featuring the songs "Quem é você?", "Santa Inquisição," and "O Amanhã."
"The event was going to happen in exactly this format before the pandemic, for fans all over Brazil, when live streams didn't have the popularity they do today! It was truly a success and a benchmark for future releases," commented Nando Fernandes about the album launch event.
Rafael Rosa added: “It was an incredible day, exciting because of the launch itself, the long-awaited day finally arrived, an important moment of celebration, because after a lot of struggle we won! And it was born beautiful and strong, ready to break down the walls.”
Launch show
At the same event, the band announced the official album launch show for January 29, 2023, at Carioca Club in São Paulo, which will feature performances by the bands Carro Bomba and Clash Bulldog’s , with tickets already available through Clube do Ingresso .
From that date, the physical album and other Sinistra products will be available for sale. Carro Bomba, the band of Rogério Fernandes , brother of Nando Fernandes, will be touring to promote the album Migalhas , while Clash Bulldog's will be promoting their debut album, Bark Power .
Fans who had been eagerly awaiting the release of Sinistra's album were rewarded with a record of pure heavy metal, featuring grandiose, exciting, and very heavy compositions, and a superb production by the band itself and the experienced producer Átila Ardanuy , at Orra Meu! Studios . The cover art and booklet were created by João Duarte , and the band's logo was designed by Capo Neto .
“Sinistra’s debut album is the result of a long period of research in search of a dense, heavy, dark sound without exaggeration or frills, always prioritizing musicality and trying to extract the best from each member. I think we achieved a good result, a different sound in the national rock scene, and we are ready to hit the road, a place where every band likes to be, showing their work to the fans,” commented Edu Ardanuy.
