Silverstein criticizes the "dishonest system" in his new song, "Bankrupt"

The track was recorded during the pandemic

Silverstein has released the new single “Bankrupt”, accompanied by a music video which you can watch below.

With the growing crisis and social inequality laid bare during the pandemic, the group "took their fury to the studio and continued writing throughout the lockdown," according to a statement released to the press.

“I don’t know how to feel anything but anger anymore. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Wages are stagnant, tuition costs are rising, jobs are being automated/outsourced, the cost of a house is laughable in most major cities. What should we do now? Caring for each other at the community level is good, but changing a corrupt system is better,” commented guitarist and composer Paul Marc.
