Silver , the new project from guitarist Felipe Machado ( VIPER ) and vocalist Rodrigo Cerveira , releases "Love is Rage" today. The single is the second sample from the duo's first EP, Turn Around , which will be available in August – listen now on your preferred digital platform .
Like any good "1990s album," it couldn't be without a power ballad . "Love is Rage" has a beautiful piano introduction until the guitar, bass, and drums join the melody to create one of the best moments of the EP. The track features a special guest appearance by Giovanna Cerveira .
“The ballad was born from the perspective of love as a feeling that carries various emotions,” says Rodrigo Cerveira. “Love is force. The most powerful force in humanity in my opinion and, therefore, full of emotions: simple, complex, cold, hot. Translating this cocktail into the lyrics, music, and melody was what we sought. Furthermore, this song brings an extra component for me, because I share the vocals with my daughter Giovanna, which is always exciting. It's an indescribable pride. We also have the presence of my son-in-law, the producer Victor 'Patesh' on guitar.”.
Felipe Machado adds: “Like most of Silver's songs, 'Love is Rage' was born from a jam session in Campos do Jordão, when we were spending the holidays with family. I started playing a sequence of chords on the guitar and Rodrigo already had the idea for the lyrics and the vocal melody. It's my favorite track on the EP.”.
Silver's aim is to present a contemporary rock sound that engages with the tradition of arena rock. The compositions and arrangements carry a modern freshness, without abandoning the characteristic heaviness of the genre. The debut EP was produced by Val Santos , who also handled the bass and programmed drums.
