Three days after their historic show at Bangers Open Air 2026, Angra returned to the stage on the evening of Wednesday, the 29th, in a sideshow under the same concept as Angra Reunion, at Espaço Unimed, in São Paulo, bringing together a large audience even for a weekday evening.

This time longer and without Fabio Lione, the show began again with the current lineup consisting of Rafael Bittencourt, Marcelo Barbosa, Felipe Andreoli, Bruno Valverde and the new vocalist Alírio Netto, who played much of the same setlist as the festival, but with the inclusion of "Make Believe" in the repertoire, and with Alírio also responsible for performing the songs of his predecessor.

Alírio Netto has gained public approval as the new vocalist of Angra

Regarding Alírio, it's worth highlighting that a large part of the audience present at the performance was surprised by his vocal range, with many comments suggesting that his entry into the band should have happened right after Edu Falaschi in 2012. This moment in question came during "Wuthering Heights," and with strong similarities in that he sings in the same key as the incomparable Maestro of Rock, Andre Matos, further justifying his selection as the band's new vocalist.

The Nova Era band played the iconic album in its entirety

Just like at Bangers, the focus of the night was on the Nova Era band, who this time would play the iconic album Rebirth in its entirety, in celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of its release, making fans "go back in time" as soon as the instrumental "In Excelsis" began to play on the venue's sound system.

Seeing Rafael, Edu, Felipe, Kiko Loureiro, and Aquiles Priester on the same stage again thrilled all the fans, especially the large portion of the audience who didn't attend the festival and were eagerly awaiting the show, and was marked by the opportunity to hear "Nova Era," "Rebirth," "Heroes of Sand," and some lesser-known songs as well, such as "Judgment Day," "Unholy Wars," and "Visions Prelude."

Edu Falaschi's interactions with the public

Edu interacted a lot with the audience and again joked about the fact that "Bleeding Heart" was immortalized by the forró band Calcinha Preta as "Agora Estou Sofrendo" (Now I'm Suffering), even singing the chorus in Portuguese, driving the audience wild. Kiko also seemed more comfortable and allowed himself to make mistakes in some of his solos so he could run around the stage and be closer to the audience. The quintet also included "Ego Painted Grey" and "Spread Your Fire," tracks from later albums, in their setlist.

The show also featured moments where both drummers performed solos and left the audience speechless, especially when Priester played his "Psychoctopus Drum Solo," accompanied by an instrumental track, justifying his nickname "Octopus." Bruno's solo, on the other hand, showcased more freedom with the instrument and earned him strong praise from Bittencourt, who described him as "our golden boy.".

The final act featured the surprise inclusion of “Reaching Horizons,” sung acoustically by Rafael, followed by another moving tribute to Andre in “Silence and Distance,” with Edu and Alírio alternating vocals, as well as the return of Marcelo as the third guitarist and Bruno on drums. The dynamic continued in “Late Redemption,” but this time with Aquiles taking over the drums, and to close the night, everyone joined together to play “Carry On,” celebrating the band's legacy and ending the evening.

Angra members seemed more comfortable on stage

Overall, the 9 members seemed more relaxed on stage, without all the pressure of performing for a festival audience, but rather for those who are truly fans of the band and wanted to be there to see them all together.

Reinforcing what was said in the text about the festival, it's unlikely to say whether this reunion model will solidify for the band going forward, given that the group has come out of its "hiatus," has a new frontman , and already has new shows on its schedule.

Both Edu and Aquiles have busy schedules, but even if these were just two one-off performances, the overall result is positive, it goes down in the history of metal in the country and is remembered as an opportunity for fans to see Kiko, Rafael, Edu, Aquiles and Felipe together one last time.
