Slipknot's Sid Wilson announces solo album and releases new song; listen here.

DJ Sid Wilson will release a solo hip-hop album.

Sid Wilson announced that he will be releasing a new solo album and, to accompany the announcement, released a creepy music video for the track “†He(c)U(R)e”. ∫∑x©∆p∆D∑∫ øƒ †h3 høP∑£3∫∫ ®øbø†¡¢ (Sexcapades of the Hopeless Robotic) will be released on August 17th.

Wilson released two albums in 2011 under the moniker SID and focused on Slipknot , .5: The Gray Chapter , in the years that followed. Despite some collaborations with other artists, Wilson hasn't been very active in recent years. “†He(c)U(R)e” marks his return to rap.

“The ‘cure’ represents the last straw for the human race for the hero SID,” explains Wilson, “He has tried countless times to share what he calls the ‘cure’ with every individual he has encountered and cared about. Without any success, he now sees his lonely future through a series of time travels and quantum leaps using elements of the ecosystem on planet Earth. Seeing how addictions influence people, he soon realizes he can no longer inject the ‘cure.’ Because of the adaptations that have occurred in humans, and the tolerance to the ‘cure,’ SID begins to develop human DNA within himself. Will he find salvation elsewhere, or must he remain among men?”

SID assures that more songs will be released before the album's debut in August and is planning some live shows to promote the record. Listen to “†He(c)U(R)e” below and then see the album cover ∫∑x©∆p∆D∑∫ øƒ †h3 høP∑£3∫∫ ®øbø†¡¢ (Sexcapades of the Hopeless Robotic).
