Sid Wilson chose his favorite Slipknot during an interview with Revolver .
“My favorite songs are the ones we don’t play live,” he said, “'Skin Ticket' is my all-time favorite. You listen to that song and you feel different after hearing that kind of thing. You don’t know that level of fear exists in the world until you hear something like that. It takes you out of your routine and takes you to a very dark place.”
"Skin Ticket" is part of the 2001 album Iowa , which is considered one of Slipknot's heaviest albums – or even one of the heaviest in metal. According to setlist.fm , the song has only been performed live 14 times, and the last time this happened was in November 2016 at Knotfest Japan. That year was the year with the most performances of this song, exactly 13 times. The 14th time was the first time they played it, in 2005.
He continued: “I don’t know why these [less played] songs are my favorites. I don’t know if it’s to keep me alert and remind me to be my best self to help people. Because [songs like 'Skin Ticket'] sound real. Like, it’s not fantasy. That exists and it exists all around us, and you better understand that or it will bring you down.”
