The band hopes to release the album in the first half of this year.

Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers revealed that the band has finished recording their new album, which is yet to have a title and release date.

“The new album is ready. Our part is done, now Eric [Bass, the band's producer and bassist] will mix the record. The plan was for Eric to only produce the album, but now he's also mixing it, so our part is done and his is left.”

According to Myers, the successor to Threat To Survival will have 12 to 13 songs, despite them having recorded 16. "That was the hardest album for me and the band," he said, "It's heavier than 'Threat To Survival' but it's fresh and new. What I like most about the band is that we don't do the same thing twice."

Threat To Survival was a success at the time. The tracks "Cut The Cord" and "State Of My Head" topped the Rock radio charts, and "Asking For It" and "How Did You Love" reached the Billboard Top 10.

The album will be released by Atlantic in the first half of the year and marks the first production entirely made by bassist Eric.
