Shawn Crahan , the Clown from Slipknot , has spoken out in favor of requiring proof of vaccination for entry into any country during the pandemic.

The so-called "vaccination passport" is a reality in some countries, mainly with vaccination against yellow fever, but there is still no consensus on the same requirement in the face of COVID-19.

In a recent episode of the Electric Theater , Clown expressed interest in getting vaccinated, despite not having received any doses to date. “I haven’t had the flu vaccine in 20 years and I haven’t had the flu in 20 years,” he initially argued (via Blabbermouth ). “But I’m going to take it a step further. Do I agree with the vaccine? I don’t know what I agree with. I know I don’t want to be told to do anything.”

Despite not approving of mandatory vaccination, the musician approves of restrictions for those who decide not to get vaccinated, citing the requirement for proof of vaccination in Canada. “So now I just need Japan to say it, North America to say it, South America, Australia, New Zealand… When everyone gets on board, I’ll know we’re in this together,” he pointed out. “I don’t think we’re not in this together now. I think first the right people were offered the first dose, and then it opens up as knowledge is created.”

Recently, a panel from the World Health Organization ruled against requiring proof of vaccination as a mandatory measure for entry into countries. According to the experts responsible for the opinion, the requirement would increase inequalities. "Given the limited availability of vaccines, preferential vaccination of travelers may result in inadequate vaccine supply for priority populations considered to be at high risk of severe COVID-19," the WHO stated in a temporary recommendation.
