In a candid and emotional interview on the Piers Morgan Uncensored , Sharon Osbourne revealed why she decided not to go through with the assisted suicide agreement she had with her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne , after his death in July 2025. Ozzy died at age 76 , and the 73-year-old widow opened her heart to explain her choice and the crucial role her children played in that decision.

Sharon and Ozzy had made this pact public decades ago. A life agreement that stipulated that, should either of them face severe physical decline or a debilitating illness, they would seek help from a Swiss assisted suicide organization, such as Dignitas . The idea was in her autobiography Survivor: My Story – The Next Chapter (2007) and was reaffirmed in interviews over the years.

Sharon reveals that her three children were instrumental in the decision.

During the conversation, Sharon spoke directly about what prevented her from fulfilling the pact after Ozzy's death. She stated that, despite feeling she had already lived life to the fullest, her three children, Aimee, Kelly , and Jack , were instrumental in her decision to continue living. "They were simply magnificently supportive of me," Sharon said.

In her eyes, the presence and support of her family gave meaning to her choice. Sharon shared a memory that deeply touched her:

“Years ago, when I had one of my nervous breakdowns, I went to a small clinic to take care of my mental health. There were two girls there. They didn’t know each other, but they were both there, each having lost their mother to suicide. I saw the state these two young women were in and the impact it had on their lives, and I thought, ‘I would never, ever, under any circumstances, do that to my children,’” confessed Sharon [via People ].

Sharon also spoke about how she deals with loss. "Grief has now become my friend," she stated, describing the pain as something she needs to learn to live with. This statement indicates a process of adaptation and resilience, rather than giving up.

After more than four decades together, the bond between Sharon and Ozzy was characterized by both love and partnership. Although the pact was a public promise to stand together until the end, the reality of the pain of loss and the love for their children brought a new perspective to Sharon.
