Sharon Osbourne Ozzy Osbourne 's manager and widow , confirmed that the Ozzfest could return in 2027.

During an appearance at MIDEM 2026 , held on February 6th in Cannes, France, Sharon responded emphatically: “Yes, absolutely. Yes, we will do it.” She also recalled that the last edition of the festival, held in 2018, took place shortly before the Prince of Darkness fell ill.

“There were no plans to cancel. We were still going to do it, but Ozzy couldn’t. We talked about it, and he’d say, ‘Do you think Ozzfest would work without me?’ And I’d say, ‘Yes, it’s a brand. It’ll work without you.’ And he’d say, ‘We should do it’,” he stated [transcription via Blabbermouth ].

In January, the businesswoman confirmed negotiations with Live Nation for the return of Ozzfest

In an interview with Billboard , Sharon stated that Ozzfest could return as early as 2027 , with an updated concept but maintaining the original spirit of giving a stage to new bands alongside big names in the scene.

“I’ve been talking to Live Nation recently about bringing [Ozzfest] back. It was something Ozzy did with a lot of passion, giving young talent a stage to perform for big people. We really started metal festivals in this country. It’s been replicated, but never with the same spirit as ours, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like a summer camp for kids,” said the businesswoman.

Sharon also explained that the return wouldn't simply be about copying previous editions, but rather reinventing the festival for current times. This would involve balancing the presence of established artists with new names, as well as considering the production challenges that led to the end of the traditional Ozzfest. "I'd like to mix genres," she concluded.

Following the interview, the festival's official social media accounts posted cryptic photos suggesting the possible return of the iconic traveling heavy metal and rock event in 2027. The first post asked followers if the event could return next year. The second post questioned: "What's your opinion on a possible return of OzzFest?".
